Primary & Secondary Colors

Today we learned about primary and secondary colors. Red, blue and yellow are primary colors because they can't be created by mixing other colors together. They are a single color that can't be broken down.

On the other hand, secondary colors are made by combining red, blue and yellow. Secondary colors include purple, orange, green and all the colors in between. Hey that rhymes!

Speaking of colors and rhyming... And to Name but Just a Few: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue by Laurie Rosenwald is one of my favorite color-themed books!

If you decide to make a color collage or color rhyming book like Ms. Rosenwald, send it to me and I will post it on our blog! Here are some rhyming color words to get you started!

...and this is a peek into our Colors lesson...

Teachers, the entire lesson can be found on my TpT site!

Colors are awesome.

What is your favorite color?
